Hi, I'm Patty (like the burger)
I've always known I wanted to pursue design. As a kid, I made banners for online forums and sketched screens for interactive sites I hoped to build one day. Eventually, I found product design, which brought all of my interests together.
I also like building out my fun ideas, follow along at @pattyteaa. Tiny Internet Package, a digital gifting product I designed and built solo, has 70.5K+ users. The best part of this journey has been meeting other creatives who are making things of their own.
In lots of parts of my life, I believe in the joy of creation, in making more than I consume, and in having fun through the process.
I was born and raised in Thailand, studied Media Studies with an Informatics minor at the University of British Columbia, and spent a semester on exchange in South Korea. By the time I graduated, I had lived in three different countries. I think that made me more curious about how people in different places make, use, and think about things.
I first fell in love with software through the computer science classes I took in school. I liked learning how things worked behind the interface, and eventually wanted to get closer to building the things I was designing.
Lately, I've been interested in bringing design and building closer together. I use tools like Claude Code and Cursor to prototype ideas, explore interactions, and get them into a working form quickly. Being able to build what I design helps me think through ideas more deeply and see how they actually feel in use. I believe software, and the things we make with it, should be made with care.
Outside of software, I collect photos of skies, have a soft spot for liminal spaces, and recently picked up oil pastels. I'm also always trying some new way of making things, from cake decorating to clay to the occasional tiny hardware project.
